SATTL creates a hands-on innovative environment dedicated to researching, developing, evaluating, validating, transitioning, and implementing innovative technology in support of spectrum modernization.
Maker Space
An innovative facility designed to foster collaboration and creativity in the field of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) and technologies. It features a live virtual construct of the Department of Defense (DoD), providing an immersive environment for participants to engage with real-world applications and scenarios.
Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V)
SATTL employs agile, robust IV&V processes that assess systems for their ability to meet desired capabilities and their ability to fulfil operational needs. SATTL test activities are scaled appropriately, and reports are delivered rapidly to support risk-based decisions in a constantly evolving technological environment.
Data/System Repository (DSR)
Provides a repository of EMSO software. This service includes software distribution, software minor changes, lifecycle documentation, and configuration management.
Applied Research
Applied research in EMSO focuses on developing practical solutions and technologies to optimize the use of the electromagnetic spectrum. This area of research addresses various challenges, including spectrum management, electromagnetic warfare, interference mitigation, signal processing, and the integration of advanced communication systems.
The vision of the Spectrum Advanced Training Technology Lab (SATTL) is to lead nationally in government technologies research, development, and engineering, by pioneering spectrum modernization initiatives.
The mission of SATTL is to create an innovative environment dedicated to researching, developing, evaluating, validating, transitioning, and implementing cutting-edge technologies in support of the spectrum management modernization, beginning FY 2025.
